Security officers to get free apartments after 25 years of service – official

December 6, BPN. Security forces would be entitled to privatizing their rented apartments for free after 25 years of service, Deputy Prime Minister Anatol Sivak has said following Alaksandr Łukašenka’s meeting with officials in Minsk.

“This is the main message that was approved today. By January 1, we will prepare a regulatory act that will describe this mechanism,” Sivak told reporters, as quoted by Łukašenka-affiliated Telegram channel Pul Pervogo.

The official said that 700,000 sq. m of rental housing were needed to solve the security forces’ housing issue. The figure has already been included in construction plans for 2023-2024.

“There’s no talk of building military camps. People in uniform will have their apartments in the same buildings as other citizens,” Sivak said.

At the December 6 meeting, Łukašenka said that over 33,000 people “with shoulder insignia” were on the waiting list for better housing.
