Police destroy over 500 kg of heroin in Minsk

December 13, BPN. Investigative Committee officers have burned down over 500 kg of heroin at the Minsk Tractor Plant, the committee’s press office said.

In March 2021, the Investigative Committee completed criminal investigation against four members of a criminal gang from the Middle East and Eastern Europe. They allegedly smuggled heroin from Afghanistan to Belarus and then to the EU under the guise of fruit from Iran transiting via Russia.

The batch of heroin was stored in a cache in the Zavodski district of Minsk, authorities said.
