Opposition to help Belarusians stripped of citizenship

December 14, BPN. Valer Kavaleŭski, a member of the opposition’s transition cabinet, has said the cabinet “will seek opportunities for Belarusians to have a proper legal status in the civilized world regardless of the regime’s insane actions.”

He was commenting on a bill that would soon allow the state to strip “extremists” of Belarusian citizenship. It passed two readings in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Belarusian National Assembly, on December 14.

“We will seek non-recognition of these decisions by the illegitimate authorities and solve the practical aspects that Belarusian nationals may face abroad,” Kavaleŭski said in a statement.
