Police arrest renowned educator

December 28, BPN. Police in Belarus have arrested a renowned teacher, co-founder of the 100 Ballov education center Jaŭhien Liviant.

A pro-government Telegram channel posted a video of him revealing his annual income, real estate and other properties, as forced by law enforcers.

In the video, Liviant says he was invited to participate in the Coordinating Council for Political Crisis Settlement in Belarus in 2020. “I attended one meeting of the Coordinating Council, on August 20 or 21 in 2020,” he said.

The educator added that during post-election protests he “went to the roadway, blocking the movement of vehicles.”

On October 20, 2021 the Investigative Committee opened a special procedure case against “members of the so-called Coordinating Council”: Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja, member of her transition cabinet Pavieł Łatuška, Coordinating Council presidium members Volha Kavalkova and Siarhiej Dyleŭski, and Cichanoŭskaja’s former campaign manager Maryja Maroz.

The Prosecutor General’s Office referred the case to court on December 16.
