EU approval needed to send frozen assets to Ukraine – Lithuania’s interior minister

January 6, BPN. The European Union should develop a unified policy to allow using frozen Russian and Belarusian assets to rebuild Ukraine, delfi.lt reported citing Lithuania’s Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė.

Lithuania keeps making proposals for joint EU solutions as the most effective ones, she noted.

In 2022, Lithuania froze a total of $9.5 million in assets of one individual and six companies linked to Belarus as well as €77.9 million linked to Russian-owned companies.
