Blogger Marozaŭ taken into custody, criminal charges unclear

January 30, BPN. Former opposition activist and blogger Illa Morozov is held at the detention center on Vaładarskaha Street in Minsk, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.

Criminal charges against him remain unclear.

Marozaŭ was one of the founders of the Belarusian segment of LiveJournal, a popular blog and social networking platform in the early 2000s.

A Telegram channel linked to police reported Marozaŭ’s arrest on January 9 accusing him of participating in 2020 protests and writing at least 3,000 critical comments.
