Belarus raises subsistence minimum budget on February 1

January 30, BPN. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection plans to raise the subsistence minimum budget (SMB) on February 1 and until April 30.

It will amount to 341.48 rubels (about $129 at the National Bank’s exchange rate on January 30) per capita on average, rising by 1.65 rubels.

The SMB for the able-bodied population will amount to 377 rubels; for pensioners, 257 rubels; for children under three years, 217 rubels; children between 3 and 6 years, 300 rubels; children between 6 and 18 years, 366 rubels.

The SMB is used for calculations of social benefits, including allowances, benefits for families with children, social pensions, allowances paid in addition to pensions, and benefits for people who take care of people with disabilities or seniors over 80.
