Foreign investments in Belarus’ real economy plunge by 19.5 percent in 2022 – Belstat
February 15, BPN. Foreigners invested a total of $7 billion in the real economy of Belarus in 2022, a 19.5 percent decrease year on year, the National Statistical Committee reported.
Russia accounted for 56.1 percent of all investments, followed by Cyprus (14.7 percent), the Netherlands (4.1 percent) and Ukraine (2.9 percent).
Investments from Belarus over that period totaled to $6.3 billion, and went mostly to Russia (87 percent), Ireland (2.4 percent) and Kazakhstan (1.6 percent), Belstat said. The share of direct Belarusian investments was 82.4 percent.
These figures do not include investments in banks, non-bank financial institutions, the Development Bank and budget organizations, Bestat noted.
