Łukašenka to meet Putin in Russia on February 17
February 16, BPN. Vladimir Putin and Alaksandr Łukašenka will meet on February 17 at the Russian president’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow region, the Kremlin’s press office said.
Łukašenka has announced their forthcoming meeting during a large press conference with foreign journalists in Minsk.
Talks would focus on security and defense as well as economic and political issues to be discussed at the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia this spring, he added.
They will also see whether the governments of Russia and Belarus have met their economic objectives related to energy, single market and import substitution, he said.
“If we get to the issue of [discussing] our joint group [of troops] in Belarus, of course, we will discuss it as well,” Łukašenka stressed.
Łukašenka and Putin last met in Minsk on December 19.
