Russia silent about reports of attack on its military aircraft in Belarus
February 27, BPN. The Kremlin has nothing to say about an alleged act of sabotage against a Russian military aircraft at the Mačuliščy military airfield near Minsk, as “Belarus has denied it,” TASS reported citing the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.
Belarusian authorities have not yet officially confirmed or denied the incident.
Currently, only indirect indications suggest that Alaksandr Łukašenka has been discussing the incident with his security chiefs in an inner-circle meeting on February 27.
On February 26, opposition media reported that several explosions at the Mačuliščy military airfield near Minsk damaged an expensive Russian early warning and control aircraft A-50.
Later that day, Alaksandr Azaraŭ from the BYPOL association of former security forces confirmed that the members of the opposition’s Pieramoha plan carried out an attack on the Russian aircraft using drones.
They have fled Belarus, Azaraŭ added.
