Cichanoŭskaja to visit Brussels while Łukašenka’s in China
February 27, BPN. Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja will visit Brussels on February 28-March 2, her adviser has told BPN.
She will deliver a speech titled “The War Will Not End Until Belarus Is Free” as part of a panel debate dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS). The event will be attended by European Commission Vice President Margrethe Vestager and Council of Europe Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić.
Cichanoŭskaja will meet with students of the College of Europe and the European Diplomatic Academy, headed by Federica Mogherini, the EU’s former foreign policy chief.
The program also includes participation in the opening of a democratic Belarus mission and talks with European Parliament Vice-President Nicola Beer, as well as with the Parliament’s delegation for Belarus.
Meanwhile, Alaksandr Łukašenka and Xi Jinping are expected to meet in China, where the Belarusian leader will be on a state visit on February 28-March 2.
