Łukašenka tells Xi Belarus wants modern Chinese technologies
March 1, BPN. During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on March 1, Alaksandr Łukašenka “confirmed support for China’s initiatives in the field of international security.”
Also, according to Łukašenka’s press office, they discussed deeper technological cooperation between the two countries, including “establishing joint ventures, upgrading Belarusian enterprises with modern Chinese technologies, and advancing goods and services to third country markets.”
“Our manufacturers are interested in acquiring expertise and studying technology of Chinese companies on forming a component base and producing engines, transmissions, axles and other devices. I suggest establishing joint ventures in the field of machine tools, electric transport and production of agricultural machinery parts both in Belarus and in China. Cooperation will make our products more competitive,” Łukašenka stressed.
Xi recalled that during his previous meeting with Łukašenka in 2022, the two leaders vowed to bring Chinese-Belarusian relations to the level of “an all-weather, comprehensive strategic partnership, which gave a powerful impetus for full-scale cooperation between the two countries.”
“In the face of instability and turbulence in the international situation, China is actively committed to continuing joint efforts with Belarus to strengthen political mutual trust and practical cooperation in the interests of the dynamic, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations,” he said.
