Zimbabwe opens embassy in Belarus
March 27, BPN. Zimbabwe has opened an embassy in Belarus, Foreign Minister Siarhiej Alejnik told reporters after a meeting with his Zimbabwean counterpart Frederick Shava in Minsk on March 27.
“I would like to inform you that all the formalities related to the opening of the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Belarus have been completed. Today we can officially announce the beginning of its work,” Alejnik said, as quoted by the Belarusian foreign ministry’s press office.
He said “the breakthrough agreements reached between the presidents of our two countries will bring our cooperation to a qualitatively new level.”
Alejnik said he and Shava had discussed the implementation of agreements in trade, economy and other spheres, and had “similar views on all key aspects of the international agenda.”
Alaksandr Łukašenka paid an official visit to Zimbabwe from January 30 to February 1. Some 20 agreements on cooperation were signed then.
