Łukašenka’s state of the union address to define “immediate strategy” – official
March 28, BPN. In his state of the union address on March 31, Alaksandr Łukašenka will “define the immediate strategy for the country’s development in a dynamically changing geopolitical situation,” said the head of his administration, Ihar Sierhiejenka.
“It will also answer questions that are of concern to our citizens. It is an analysis of the situation here and now, as well as in the future,” the senior official said, according to a video clip published by Łukašenka’s press office on Telegram.
Sierhiejenka said materials for the address were prepared by “different state and public institutions, and the scientific community.” Experts studied public opinion in the regions and development trends, he added.
Sierhiejenka concluded by saying that Łukašenka was still working on the address, as the situation “is changing dynamically, and the document constantly requires updates.”
The last state of the union address was delivered on January 28, 2022. The authorities positioned the speech as historic, while independent experts described it as a failure. Łukašenka underscored his legitimacy and tried to assure the public that he was in control. He talked a lot about the foreign policy crisis, sanctions, regional confrontation, and the threat of war. Much attention was paid to a fight against external and internal adversaries.
