Japan urges Russia, Belarus to stop escalating

March 29, BPN. Japan condemns the escalation that could result from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plans to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, given ongoing Russia’s war on Ukraine, the Japanese Foreign Ministry has told BPN.

Being the only country that suffered from nuclear bombing in a war, Japan strongly rejects threats of nuclear weapons from Russia, not to mention their practical use, it stressed.

Japan said it will continue to closely monitor developments and urged Russia and Belarus to stop any action that fuels tension.
