April 7, BPN. The Belarusian new-car market fell by 80 percent year on year in the first three months of 2023, with a total of 2,903 cars sold, the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA) said.
Car dealers need to offer more new vehicles to meet consumer demand despite the arrival of new brands and models to the market, BAA board member Hienadź Śvidzierski said.
The Chinese-Belarusian Geely has been topping sales since June 2022 and currently accounts for 72 percent of all new car sales.
In 2022, Belarusian car dealers sold a total of 14,843 new cars, with Geely at the top (4,355), followed by Lada (3,782) and Kia (1,462), the BAA noted.
