Ukraine moves to terminate state secrets deal with Minsk

April 12, BPN. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has registered a bill in parliament to terminate the state secrets agreement with Belarus, according to an entry on the Verkhovna Rada website.

The text of the bill is not available, but apparently it has already been received by parliament and passed to relevant committees.

Belarus and Ukraine signed the agreement on mutual protection of state secrets on February 26, 2004.

Russia has repeatedly struck Ukraine from Belarusian territory, where it has an increased military presence. It used Belarus as a launchpad for its February 2022 offensive on Kyiv. At the same time, Belarus says its troops are not directly involved in hostilities in Ukraine.
