Soldiers return from nuclear-capable missile system training in Russia

April 22, BPN. Crews of Belarus’ Iskander missile system have returned from “practical training” in Russia, the defense ministry in Minsk has said.

“Today, the Belarusian servicemen landed at the Mačuliščy airfield after the full cycle of training at a firing range of the Russian armed forces,” it said.

On April 4, the defense ministry reported that Belarusian soldiers left for Russia to be trained in deployment skills and performing combat training launches.

It announced that they would study the maintenance and use of tactical nuclear warheads of the Iskander-M missile system.

Belarusian army started full independent operation of the Iskander system on February 1.
