Belarus to raise subsistence minimum budget on May 1

April 27, BPN. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security plans to raise the subsistence minimum budget (SMB) starting May 1 and until July 31.

The SMB is used for calculations of social benefits, including allowances, benefits for families with children, social pensions, allowances paid in addition to pensions, and benefits for people who take care of people with disabilities or seniors over 80.

It will amount to 352.13 rubels (about $120 at the National Bank’s exchange rate on April 27) per capita on average, rising by 10.65 rubels.

The SMB for the able-bodied population will amount to 390 rubels; for pensioners, 266 rubels; for children under three years, 224 rubels; children between 3 and 6 years, 309 rubels; children between 6 and 18 years, 378 rubels.
