Belarus’ defense minister accuses United States of destabilizing Eastern Europe
April 28, BPN. The military conflict in Ukraine has turned into “the hot phase of the global civilizational standoff” between the West and East, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin has told the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers in New Delhi, India.
The war in Ukraine triggered transformation of the international relations and security system in place since the end of WW2, the defense ministry’s press office quoted him as saying.
The most dangerous scenarios, including a nuclear clash, are now possible, he warned.
He went on to accuse Washington of “extracting unilateral benefits from any crisis in the world” and destabilizing the region.
The US is holding on to the unipolarity to control the resources and wealth of the entire planet, he said accusing it of consolidating the bloc security system.
Global powers with opposing views on the world order lack agreement and start to rely more on the military force, Chrenin said.
