Russian governor announces meeting with Łukašenka

May 15, BPN. The governor of Russia’s Vladimir province has said he plans to meet with Alaksandr Łukašenka this week in Minsk amid speculation about the latter’s health.

Alexander Avdeev wrote on Telegram that the province’s delegation is in Belarus from May 14 to 17 with a “big business program.”

He said Belarus is “one of the key and time-tested partners” for Russia but there is room for more cooperation.

Łukašenka has not been seen in public since May 9, when he attended Victory Day events in Moscow and Minsk. His press office said he met with military officials today.
