Belarus’ cargo traffic plunges in January-April

May 18, BPN. Belarus’ cargo transportation fell by 30.3 percent year on year in the first four months of 2023, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.

Revenue passenger miles rose by 14.3 percent with passenger numbers up by 2.8 percent.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) linked the plunge in cargo traffic to the disruption of transport and logistics chains, closure of the southern part of Russia’s airspace and termination of cargo traffic with Ukraine.
