Belarus reconnects second nuclear unit to grid

May 28, BPN. Belarus has reconnected the second unit of its nuclear power plant to the grid after “scheduled tests,” the energy ministry said last night.

The unit, which began generating electricity on May 13, was shut down for a blackout mode check two days ago, as part of the power start-up stage. It is to enter commercial operation in October.

The first unit of the Russian-built plant near Astraviec, Hrodna region, was declared to start commercial operation in June 2021.
