Naša Niva website and logo declared extremist

June 7, BPN. A district judge in Minsk on June 5 declared the Belarusian-language news website Naša Niva and its YouTube and TikTok pages extremist content, along with its logo.

A judge of the same court gave the extremist status to the website’s pages on Odnoklassniki, Twitter, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms in November 2021. The Ministry of Internal Affairs recognized Naša Niva as an “extremist formation” in January 2022.

The ruling is just one example of the state using anti-extremist legislation in relation to content recently. Also on June 5, a district judge in Hrodna declared the Radio 97 website and its social media extremist. The pages have not been updated for a long time.

On June 6, a district judge in Viciebsk made the same decision about the song “Heroes of ROA” by Kolovrat, a Russian right-wing rock band.
