Head coach of Belarus’ soccer team sacked

June 29, BPN. The Belarusian Football Federation has sacked the national soccer team’s coaching staff, including the head coach Hieorhij Kandraćjeŭ, its press office reported.

It has not commented on the reasons for his dismissal or announced a new head coach.

Kandraćjeŭ led the national team twice: from 2011 to 2014 and from 2021 to 2023. His second tenure was marked by a streak of 16 defeats in official tournaments. In total, the national team played 27 qualifying games under his watch, winning two and drawing five.

The team won its last game with Kandraćjeŭ defeating Kosovo 2:1 in Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
