Mahiloŭ journalist sentenced for liking banned content – news website
July 10, BPN. A judge in Mahiloŭ has sentenced a local journalist for liking and subscribing to undesirable content, mogilev.media reports.
Źmicier Lapiejka had cooperated with a local council newspaper before becoming a freelancer in the summer of 2020. He also cooperated with the NGO Center for Urban Initiatives as a moderator of discussions in Mahiloŭ.
Opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja took to Twitter today to express her support for Belarusian reporters.
“At least 34 courageous journalists remain imprisoned in Belarus, while many others were forced to flee the country. Even the journalists’ union [Belarusian Association of Journalists] has been labeled as ‘extremist,'” she said.
