Wagner Group training territorial troops in Belarus – ministry
July 14, BPN. Wagner Group members are training Belarusian territorial troops near Asipovičy, Mahiloŭ region, sharing their combat experience, according to the Belarusian defense ministry and its TV company.
The reservists learn movements on a battlefield, tactical shooting, engineering, and tactical medicine.
The Kremlin-linked private military contractor announced its relocation to Belarus in early July after a feud with the Russian defense ministry and a failed mutiny.
Reporters previously speculated that a tent city near Asipovičy could be used as a base for the Wagner Group.
But a Belarusian defense official said the camp was built for military personnel and territorial defense troops. It can accommodate some 5,000 people and has facilities to store equipment, he added.
Ukrainian and Russian Telegram channels have posted a photo of Yevgeny Prigozhin, an elusive Wagner Group leader, in a field tent. The location of the photo cannot be independently verified.
