Belarus, Russia to harmonize combat training standards at joint centers
July 18, BPN. Joint training centers in Belarus will apply uniform standards to train Russian and Belarusian soldiers, the defense ministry in Minsk has said.
The program includes field trips, tactical exercises and joint practice, the ministry said. “The joint command conducts joint training and special tactical exercises at least once a year,” it added.
One month ago, Alaksandar Łukašenka signed a bill ratifying an agreement with Russia on the establishment and operation of joint training centers. The document details the operation of the centers at Belarusian and Russian bases, defines their functions and outlines the cooperation between the two countries’ defense ministries.
