July 19, BPN. Heavy rain and wind knocked out power to hundreds of areas in Belarus yesterday, the country’s energy ministry has said. Trees fell on power lines and transmission towers collapsed.
The ministry said 129 emergency crews and 147 vehicles worked to restore electricity by late night. Most of the outages occurred in the Minsk, Homiel and Mahiloŭ regions.
It said it was monitoring the weather situation and had mobilized resources to deal with any further disruptions.
