December 9, Pozirk. Maksim Huścik, head coach of the Belarusian freestyle ski team, was killed in a traffic accident early on December 9, the National Olympic Committee reported.
The accident occurred at 1.30 a.m. in Minsk, on Puškina Avenue near the Puškinskaja metro station. Huścik, 35, was hit by a Škoda with Brest license plates. Its driver, 33, was heading towards Matusieviča Street, Minsk’s traffic police said.
In 2015, Huścik won a bronze medal in aerials at the World Championships. He also participated in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
