December 10, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka and Equatoguinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo signed a road map on cooperation yesterday in Malabo.

The systemic road map takes into account the needs of Equatorial Guinea, Łukašenka’s press office said. It spans 2024–2026 and 15 areas, “including cooperation projects, deliveries and maintenance of Belarusian equipment, agriculture, health care, pharmaceuticals and sales of medical equipment, and forestry,” it said.

The two countries signed deals on protecting investments, avoiding double taxation, preventing tax evasion, and other activities, it added.

Łukašenka said that 74 specific projects were agreed. “Tomorrow we will start digging the ground in Guinea and solving problems,” he said.

Belarus named the construction of an “agricultural town,” 100 affordable residential buildings, and a ceramic brick factory among promising projects.

“I would like to emphasize that we have reached agreements on the first stage of creating a regional hub to promote Belarusian products on the markets of Central and West Africa,” Łukašenka said.

Belarus will soon open an embassy in Malabo, he said. Equatorial Guinea will open a diplomatic mission in Minsk by the end of 2024.

Obiang awarded Łukašenka with an Order of Independence, reports said.
