Putin, Łukašenka pledge to respond to threats together

March 23, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka and Russian President Vladimitr Putin have talked on the phone, confirming readiness to cooperate following an attack on a concert hall near Moscow, Łukašenka’s press office reports.
Belarus and Russia will be in touch to “effectively respond to threats of terrorism and extremism,” it added.
Gunmen in camouflage opened fire at the Crocus City Hall outside Moscow late on March 22. The death toll currently stands at 115 people.
More than 100 people were wounded, including one Belarusian national who remains in very serious condition, according to the Belarusian Ambassador Dźmitryj Krutoj.
Łukašenka, Belarusian officials and agencies promptly offered condolences to Putin.
Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja also issued a statement with condolences to the victims’ families.
Belarusian interior ministry and the Minsk subway stepped up public security procedures in connection with the attack in Russia.
