Łukašenka hoping to meet Algeria’s leader soon
November 1, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka hopes to meet Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune soon, says the Belarusian ruler’s congratulatory message on Algeria’s Revolution Day.
Belarus is interested in expanding food exports and setting up plants for joint production of agricultural machinery and vehicles, his press office quotes the message.
“Algeria and Belarus are countries with rich cultural traditions, strong economies, progressive science and technology and similar values which form a solid basis for strengthening bilateral ties,” the message reads.
Belarus and Algeria established diplomatic relations in 1995.
In 2021, trade between the two countries amounted to $1.01 million. It mainly consisted of Belarusian exports of potash fertilizers, stationery and textiles, according to the Belarusian embassy to Egypt, responsible for relations with Algeria.
