Belarusian bishop asks Pope Francis about regional peace

September 19, Pozirk. Pope Francis has conveyed his greetings to Alaksandar Łukašenka, Belarusian Bishop Andrej Znoska told Catholic.by.

Znoska, who is in the Vatican together with junior Catholic hierarchs from Belarus, asked Francis how to stop the ongoing war between Belarus’ neighbors.

“In Belarus, you know very well that one should never shut the door to negotiations, that one should keep it open,” Francis said.

Readiness to listen and hear each other can yield good results, he added.

He urged Belarusians to never lose hope and to believe in the victorious power of prayer, the only path to peace for believers.
