Kickboxer Hurkoŭ retires as world champion

October 14, Pozirk. Muay Thai world champion Vital Hurkoŭ, currently representing Ukraine, has announced his retirement from sports.

The Belarusian athlete moved to Ukraine after supporting the 2020 postelection protests in Belarus. Hurkoŭ is also known for opposing Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“I am leaving the ring as world champion in Muay Thai boxing and K-1. I am grateful to my team, my sparring partners and mentors for helping me train,” the athlete said on Instagram.
