Russia to launch drone factory in Belarus

March 6, Pozirk. Russia has proposed building a drone factory in Belarus with a capacity of up to 100,000 units per year, Alaksandar Łukašenka’s press office reported.
The Belarusian leader accepted the offer, describing it as “a huge prospect for us.”
The press office said the proposal was made during Łukašenka’s visit to an exhibition of Russian unmanned aerial systems in Minsk on March 6.
Officials indicated that the factory would manufacture drones for agricultural, logistical, monitoring and educational applications.
“We have digitized the parameters of Belarus, said Yury Kozarenko, CEO of the Russian drone maker Transport Budushchego. “We understand how many drones are needed and what impact on GDP they will have. We say that at the first stage, 2,000 agricultural drones will add up to $1 billion to GDP.”
“There is a huge number of requests from different countries. Let’s meet these requests together,” he added.
The Russian visitors to the exhibition included the presidential administration’s deputy head, Maksim Oreshkin, and Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for digital and technological development, Dmitry Peskov.
Speaking to Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankievič two days earlier, Łukašenka noted the growing demand for combat UAVs and ammunition.
