June 5, Pozirk. Belarusian security officers have arrested in the last four months at least 20 people suspected of sharing information with Biełaruski Hajun, the now-defunct defense monitoring project, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.
Established in early 2022 to monitor the military activity of Russian troops in Belarus and help the Ukrainians assess threats, Biełaruski Hajun suspended operations in early February days after a major data breach.
“We do not know what data could have been exported while an unauthorized account had access,” the group’s founder Anton Matolka said on February 5, admitting his failure.
