Minsk hit by heavy showers, streets flooded

July 15, Pozirk. The Biełhidramiet weather service has issued a red-level alert due to showers across Belarus this afternoon and evening, warning of thunderstorms, hail and strong winds with similar weather conditions expected tomorrow.
Heavy rain caused flash flooding in Minsk, disrupting both public transit and road traffic.
Earlier this month, thunderstorms resulted in flooding and power outages, claiming one life and injuring several people. More than 1,400 workers and 300 emergency response teams were busy restoring electricity to Belarusian communities as well as to the Mahiloŭchimvałakno chemical plant.
