Drone that flew to Lithuania from Belarus last week carried explosives

August 5, Pozirk. The unmanned aerial vehicle that flew into Lithuania from Belarus last week was carrying an explosive device, Prosecutor General Nida Grunskienė has told a press conference in Vilnius.
“The examination of the drone found that it was transporting an explosive charge, which was successfully neutralized on-site by Lithuanian Armed Forces specialists,” LRT quoted her as saying.
The Prosecutor General’s Office told journalists that the discovered UAV resembles the Russian Gerbera decoy drone. They based this conclusion on the visual similarity between the discovered device and the Iranian-made Shahed attack drones used by the Russian army.
Dainius Paškevičius, chief of staff of the Lithuanian Air Force, told reporters that experts found two kilograms of explosives in the crashed drone.
“For comparison, a Shahed or Shahed-type drone, which has a similar structure and model, can carry up to 50 kilograms of explosives,” the colonel said.
According to Paškevičius, the drone components were sent for additional forensic examination.
