Hanna Kurejčyk, associate professor of journalism at Belarusian State University, arrested for 15 days

February 21, BPN. Centralny District Court of Minsk sentenced Hanna Kurejčyk, associate professor at the Faculty of Journalism of the Belarusian State University, to an arrest of 15 days.

She was found guilty under Article 24.3 (disobedience to legal demands of an official) of the Administrative Code.

The charges against Kurejčyk remain unclear. In social networks, she spoke against the purposeful destruction of the journalistic profession in Belarus.

The professor was detained at home on February 18 while she was on sick leave.

Kurejčyk is an associate professor at the Department of Television and Radio Broadcasting. She works at the Faculty of Journalism since 1999.
