Teenagers aged 14 and 15 detained in Lahojsk district for writing in support of Ukraine on war victims’ monument

March 10, BPN. Teenagers aged 14 and 15 were detained in the village of Čudzeničy, Lahojsk district (Minsk region) for writing the words “Ukraine, Belarus” and some signs in support of Ukraine on the monument to victims of the Great Patriotic War.

According to the Interior Ministry, the teenagers were detained for “desecrating the monument.” “They made the inscriptions and cynical drawings with spray paint on the memorial erected on the mass grave commemorating the partisans and burned civilians.”

The teenagers pleaded guilty, “explaining their actions by the influence of videos from the Internet.” They were forced to paint over the inscriptions.

The actions of teenagers will be given a legal assessment, reports the Interior Ministry.
