Russian PM: no restrictions on travel between Russia, Belarus

March 17, BPN. All restrictions on travel of citizens between Russia and Belarus are to be lifted on midnight, March 18, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Russian cabinet meeting on March 17, according to an official Telegram channel.

“I am convinced that closer integration within the Union State would be the best answer to the sanctions pressure against Russia and Belarus,” he said.

For almost two years now, Belarusians have been facing restrictions on entering Russia due to Covid-19. Only certain groups of citizens were allowed to enter Russia by land (by bus or by car), due to a death of a close relative or traveling to visit spouses, parents, children, adoptive parents or adopted children with Russian citizenship.

No restrictions have applied to travel to Russia by air and rail, but a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 was required.
