May 18, BPN. A judge in Minsk has sentenced Nastassia Karnackaja, a salesperson arrested in the May 16 police raid on the Knihaŭka bookstore, to 13 days in jail after finding her guilty of petty hooliganism, said the Belarusian PEN Center.
The store owner, Andrej Januškievič, was sentenced to 10 days in jail on unknown administrative charges.
Police seized more than 200 books from the Belarusian-language bookstore hours after its launch party.
