Official confident that Belarusian farms can deal with sanctions

June 13, BPN. Despite the sanctions, “there have never been and will never be hunger riots” in Belarus, Ihar Bryło, minister of agriculture, told ONT TV channel.

He praised the state program of import substitution and reassured that Belarusian farms could deal with restrictions on equipment imports. Imported tractors account for just four percent of the total number of tractors, 12 percent of forage harvesters, and 22 percent of grain harvesters operated in Belarus, he said.
