June 15, BPN. Publisher Andrej Januškievič has been freed after 28 days in jail, the Belarusian Council for Culture (BCC) reports.
“He is safe now,” the BCC said.
On March 22, Januškievič’s publishing house was given three days to vacate its premises in Minsk.
Three weeks later, the publishing house attempted to launch the Knihaŭka bookstore, but police raided it shortly after the launch party on May 16.
Anastasija Karnackaja, a salesperson at Knihaŭka, was freed on June 12, having spent 23 days in jail.
