61 Ukrainian drugs disappear from Belarusian market, official says

June 20, BPN. Out of 223 Ukrainian drugs currently registered in Belarus, 61 have not extended their registration certificates, Alena Kratkova, first deputy minister of health, told ONT TV channel on June 19.

She said that the ministry has already found replacements.

According to her, domestically produced drugs make up 52 percent of the Belarusian market with the share being nearly 90 percent at hospitals. At the same time, about 800 foreign drugs have no Belarusian equivalents.

On March 19, Ukrainian health ministry suspended the registration of 39 drugs produced in Belarus. On May 22, Verkhovna Rada limited the circulation of drugs produced in Belarus and Russia.

On February 24, Russia started what it called a special military operation in Ukraine. Authorities in Minsk deny Belarusian army troops’ involvement in combat operations on the Russian side. However, Alaksandr Łukašenka admitted in the May 5 interview with AP that Russian troops entered Ukraine and launched missiles from Belarusian territory.
