Belarus posts highest industrial price rise in EAEU

Since the start of 2022, industrial product prices rose by 1.7 percent in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with Belarus posting the highest increase of 12.7 percent, followed by Kazakhstan with 12.2 percent, the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) statistical department reported.

Manufacturers’ prices in mining fell by an average of 5.7 percent across the EAEU, while jumping by 9.2 percent in Belarus and 15.3 percent in Kazakhstan.

Industrial sector prices grew by 3.5 percent in the EAEU, with Belarus leading with 14.4 percent, followed by Kazakhstan with 9.1 percent.

Electricity, gas and heat supply, and air conditioning prices rose by 6.5 percent in the EAEU, with the largest increases observed in Armenia (8.6 percent), Russia (6.6 percent), Belarus (6.4 percent), and Kazakhstan (4.9 percent).

Belarus (6.8 percent) ranked second after Armenia (9.8 percent) in price increases for water, sewage, and waste collection, which grew by an average of 4.9 percent across the EAEU.

Earlier, the EEC said that Belarus posted the sharpest rise in agricultural product prices in the EAEU in 2022.
