Belarusian border chief says special operation held with Russia

November 3, BPN. State Border Committee Chairman Anatol Łapo has said Belarus and Russia conducted a special border operation codenamed West-2022, the committee’s press office reports.

“The priority of the Belarusian and Russian border agencies was to consolidate efforts, identify, prevent and suppress illegal activities, and improve forms and methods of interacting with each other,” he told a meeting of the CIS border troops’ commanders council in Dushanbe.

Other security agencies also participated in the operation, the press office noted.
