Joining Russia’s war on Ukraine would destroy Belarus’ regime – Ukraine’s official

November 14, BPN. It makes no sense today to open the Belarusian border for a new invasion of Russian troops, Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office who lived in Belarus for 15 years before his deportation in 2004, told Ukraine’s UNIAN.

Possible invasion from Belarusian territory would only “prolong the agony of the Russian Federation for several days” and would almost immediately destroy the system of government in Belarus.

Podolyak believes that Belarusians “do not perceive this war the way Russians do,” that is why “it would be a shock” for Belarus, which would immediately rekindle protests.

Zelensky’s advisor hoped that Alaksandr Łukašenka has enough “innate cunning to realize the impossibility” of going to war against Ukraine.

On October 21, Ukraine called on Belarusians not to follow orders to enter the war against Ukraine to avoid responsibility for war crimes already committed by the Russian army.
