Ukraine scraps avoidance of double taxation with Belarus

November 16, BPN. Verkhovna Rada has terminated the agreement for the avoidance of double taxation that was signed between Kyiv and Minsk in 1993.

The Ukrainian parliament’s press office said this was done to “deactivate economic ties with the aggressor country and its allies.”

On October 4, the Ukrainian cabinet of ministers agreed a bill to withdraw from the deal. Belarusian residents would have to pay a 15 percent tax on all their incomes in Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine would no longer be obliged to share taxation data with Belarus.
